Member of European Parliament Dubravka Šuica said the following In front of the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety:
˝We would like to add a new dimension here. Besides the Conference of Mayors, which is very important to consider, we must also consider villages, towns, cites, provinces, regions... Everyone must participate.
A new dimension, I think, besides the local and regional ones, is the dimension of human rights. We constantly talk about human rights. Aren’t environmental protection and nature conservation one dimension of human rights? Aren’t health care, good housing, drinkable water, working conditions, and good education? Don’t the citizens of Europe, don’t the citizens of the world have a right to good conditions?
That is why is up to us that we move on from the virtual zone to the concrete and that in 2015 we bring about the Global Climate Agreement and that we finally move forward to specific, concrete objectives in order to meet 2020 Agenda.˝
