Today in Strasbourg, the Head of the Croatian EPP Delegation Dubravka Šuica, attended a meeting of the Delegation for Relations with the United States. As a deputy member, during the exchange of views with the new EU Ambassador in Washington, David O'Sullivan, she raised the issue of visa liberalization with all countries of the European Union and what he, as the newly elected Ambassador, intends to do so that all the citizens of the European Union, Croats included, feel equal.
''Mindful that the issues of energy, data protection and the agreement on trade with the US are topics that dominate, there still, however, remains an open question, and that is the issue of a visa-free regime for Croatian, Romanian, Polish, Bulgarian and Cypriot citizens,'' said Dubravka Šuica.
Ambassador O 'Sullivan replied that the issue was very high on his agenda and that he plans to continually remind the American authorities about the obvious discrimination in this case. He also considers this situation unacceptable and will do everything so that all EU countries enjoy the same regime.
