˝On a recent visit to the European Parliament, the Holy Father Pope Francis called on the citizens of Europe to return the firm beliefs of the founders of the European Union, with the message to bring people back to the central focus. This is why during the time of Advent, I wish for us to turn to each other and our common values, because Christmas is a time of peace, goodwill, love and understanding, and I want for Christmas to last throughout the year.
This is an opportunity to look back on what we achieved and the work of our small but valuable delegation in the European Parliament which, in these six months of activity demonstrated exceptional activity and engagement in all areas, from agriculture, regional development, environmental protection, human rights, international trade, and foreign policy to all questions relating to Croatia.
A great deal of work still awaits us MEPs, from questions about countries in our immediate neighborhood, with particular emphasis on Bosnia and Herzegovina, to the state border of the Ukraine and Russia and other hot spots, which cannot leave Europe, as a major world player, indifferent. We will also continue to advocate and support all those European policies that ensure economic growth and new jobs. At least during this Christmas season let us turn to each other, let's find strength in what connects us, in our common values - in a small child.
On behalf of the Croatian Delegation of the European People's Party in the European Parliament, I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2015,˝ said the Head of the Croatian EPP Delegation in the European Parliament during her Christmas and New Year's wishes.
