After the government announced early elections for 17 local governments - nine cities and eight municipalities that failed to bring budgets for this year within the legal deadline - there was a second round of early local elections in those local units, five cities and five municipalities, that did not elect their leaders two weeks ago during the first round of elections.
Dubrovnik, Korčula, Hvar, Pag and Novi Marof elected mayors, while Milna, Petlovac, Čaglin, Strahoninec and Gundinci elected municipal prefects.
Head of the Croatian EPP delegation to the European Parliament and Vice-President of HDZ, Dubravka Šuica, voted at a polling station in the building of the Dubrovnik High School in both rounds of the early local elections.
