˝Female entrepreneurship has become a strong driving force in today's economy, in the corporate world as well as in small and medium-sized enterprises. In this difficult financial situation with which the European Union is faced, women are willing to take responsibility and have the ability to take on challenges and risks onto themselves and to successfully cope with the challenges of today's economy,˝ said Dubravka Šuica in Warsaw at the Congress organized by Women of the European People's Party and Women of the European Union.
The theme of today's Congress, which Šuica is attending as Vice President of Women of the European People's Party and as a Member of the European Parliament, is ˝Women and Entrepreneurship˝. Economic issues are being discussed with leading entrepreneurs from different sectors of the economy and women from the worlds of politics, science and civil society.
˝Women need to engage more actively in entrepreneurship. Although the proportion of women in the total active work force is 45.5%, only 32.8% are in management positions, although many studies have shown that the proportion of women has a direct positive impact on business performance. In the current economic situation in Europe, it would be foolish not to take advantage of this potential,˝ said Šuica.
