MEP Dubravka Šuica has opened an office in Dubrovnik located at Petilovrjenci 2. In addition to offices in Brussels, Strasbourg and Zagreb, this morning Šuica opened the door of her office in Dubrovnik which will be headed by Ms. Luna Polić.
At the opening, Šuica briefly presented the work of her team in the European Parliament where, so far, she has dealt with topics such as youth unemployment, construction of the Pelješac Bridge and Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which, she said, will be part of the enduring mission of the Croatian representatives in the European Parliament who want to help their neighbours find their European path. Šuica added that Croatia wants to be a bridge to the entirety of Southeast Europe.
Dubravka Šuica explains the aim of her Dubrovnik office: ˝I want the door to my office to always be open to citizens for inquiries regarding the work of the European Parliament, and the European Union in general. In this period in which Croatia is as the newest member state of the EU, it is very important to immediately establish a strong dialogue with citizens and to actively provide information. We in Dubrovnik especially, given our geographic dislocation, know what the European Union can offer us.˝
At the opening of the office in Dubrovnik, Šuica gave all those in attendance the book ˝EU policies and funds 2014 – 2020˝and Mayor Andro Vlahušić delivered Šuica the English translation of the Statute of the City of Dubrovnik from the 1272.
Besides Mayor Vlahušić, those in attendance included Prefect of Dubrovnik-Neretva County Mr. Nikola Dobroslavić, Mayor of Ploče Mr. Kresimir Vejić, President of Europe House Dubrovnik Mrs. Adriana Kremenjaš-Daničić, and many other dignitaries. The official opening ended with the video for new campaign of the European Parliament for the 2014 elections, whose motto is ˝act, react, impact - European Parliament˝.
