Šuica: New jobs - the goal of all EU policies!

The first six months of the new session of the European Parliament ended today with the plenary session in Strasbourg. There were many topics that preoccupied the work of MEPs, but this week's session was dominated by two in particular: the work plan of the European Commission for 2015 and the preparation for the session of the European Council. The European People's Party (EPP) strongly supports the investment plan of the European Commission in the amount of 315 billion euros since it will spur growth, new jobs and will help to adapt the European economy to the challenges of this century. The investment will increase competitiveness because it will make Europe more attractive for investors, however, this plan will be effective only in-depth structural reforms are simultaneously carried out in the Member States. The Commission's work plan is based on Juncker's 10 priorities, among which the most important are job creation and mobility within the Union for the purpose of education, especially in the field of IT technologies.

Green technology, the circular economy, the energy union, the single market, and fair taxation so that the tax is charged at the place where that income is realized, are the topics that are on the list of priorities of the Juncker Commission. One of the pillars is to reduce bureaucracy at all levels in order to make life easier for farmers and small and medium businesses, and ultimately all citizens. The week was marked by the adoption of the EU budget, which includes financial compensation from the Solidarity Fund for areas affected by bad weather and floods in the Republic of Croatia. Great interest was also raised by the resolution on the recognition of Palestine's statehood, all in the spirit of compromise as part of the peace process that supports a final solution between the two countries.

A big job still awaits MEPs, from questions about the countries in our immediate neighborhood, with a particular emphasis on Bosnia and Herzegovina, to the state of the border of Ukraine and Russia, as well as in other hot spots in Europe that, as a major world player, can not leave you indifferent. During this first half year of action, representatives of the Croatian EPP Delegation in the European Parliament demonstrated exceptional activity and engagement in all areas, from agriculture, regional development, and environmental protection, to human rights, international trade, foreign policy and all questions relating to the Republic of Croatia.
