The revised Common Agricultural Policy(1) provides for the possibility to adopt exceptional measures against market disturbances and to take immediate action where a duly justified imperative ground of urgency is present.
For the fruit and vegetables sector, the immediate measures taken are Regulations (EU) No 913/2014(2) and (EU) No 932/2014(3). They apply from mid-August and until 30 September 2014 and 30 November 2014 (30 December 2014 for the additional support for promotion activities for peaches and nectarines), respectively. Support for producers of citrus fruits was not included in these measures.
However, the Commission has adopted more targeted measures(4), which take into account the experience of the past weeks. Support for producers of citrus fruits (oranges, clementines and mandarins) is included in those measures.
Furthermore, the Commission would refer the Honourable Member to its answer to Written Question E ‐6528/2014, P-6605/2014, P-6508/2014 and P-6492/2014(5).
