On September 13th, in Europe House in Zagreb, the Office of the European Parliament in Zagreb presented the information campaign for the 2014 European elections to the Croatian public.
On Tuesday, September 10th, the European Parliament launched an information campaign aimed at increasing turnout at the next European elections in May 2014 because low voter turnout has become a major feature of these elections.
The motto of the campaign is ˝Act, react, impact.˝ The campaign will run posters and video clips in 28 member states, in 24 official languages of the European Union and on social networks. ˝Information˝ means that the purpose of a campaign is to educate citizens, provide them with accurate and relevant information and to encourage them to come out and vote in the elections for the European Parliament on 25 May 2014.
The presentation was attended by Croatian MEPs Tonino Picula, Biljanja Borza, Oleg Valjalo, Davor Ivo Stier, Ivana Maletić and Dubravka Šuica.
Member of the European Parliament Dubravka Suica addressed those in attendance, saying, ˝Only now when some perhaps positive decisions we have made, such as roaming, or if we reach a decision on a single digital market, the Croatian public will realize how important the role of the European Parliament is."
